Our Mission
Our mission is simple, two-pronged, and interconnected. We teach underprivileged children, many of whom have never been to the beach before, (1) how to surf and (2) about sustainability in the midst of an ever-polluted planet. Together, we have a powerful platform that allows us to change the world, one child at a time. As Wallace J. Nichols Ph.D. put it, “Surfing is medicine. The ocean is good medicine. And we need to talk about it like that.” At Spread the Swell, we do.
